SERVICES | KITCHEN AND BATH DESIGN

We believe the planning process is the foundation of any successful project. Start with KitchenVisions first and discover the kitchen and bath design you’ve been dreaming of.

In our initial meeting, we talk about your project and explain how we work. We discuss an initial budget, your home’s value and the remodel investment parameters, your design goals, and our design and project coordination fee. We collaborate with you to determine the scope of services required to realize your personalized project from conception to completion. We determine at this meeting whether you need an architect, interior designer, structural engineer or other building specialist.

Scope Development

With our kitchen and bath design work, we will first send you a proposal that details the scope of work discussed, fee structure, and general provisions for us working together. For general budgeting purposes, we send you an agreement with the estimated number of hours, based on historical data for similar projects we have completed, for:

  • Design: Measurements, schematic design work and cabinet, tile, and lighting layouts and plans

  • Selections: Shopping & presentations for selections of cabinets, countertops, tile, hardware, flooring, paint, appliances, and lighting as needed for project completion

  • Project Coordination: Completion of installation binders for use by the contractor and tradespeople

  • Client meetings

  • Job site visits to collaborate with project managers and subcontractors

Project Vision & Goals

Once the design proposal has been reviewed and accepted and a retainer has been received, we move forward with discovering your design personality.

  • Site visit made to measure the existing space

  • Complete a KitchenVisions design questionnaire and share your design inspirations and ideas (bring magazine articles and photos, Houzz Ideabook, Pinterest boards and notes)

  • Elaborate on the project parameters: scope, timing and materials

  • Create cost estimates for cabinetry, finishes and materials and confirm project budget and design goals

Imagery, Details & Selections

  • Present floor plan layout options

  • A final layout is agreed upon often combining elements from several different floor plans

  • Introduction to contractors based on their availability (and personality match)

  • Discuss various options and related costs: construction and selections schedules

  • Select cabinetry, finishes and materials – depending on your needs, we will bring materials to you for your approval or you can schedule product selection meetings where we shop together

Finalizing Parameters

Finely detailed line-item final proposal is presented from KitchenVisions

  • You will have met and received proposals from available contractors. The chosen contractor will present the prepared schedule including start and target completion dates

  • Together we will review responsibilities and timing

  • Confirm final agreement

Scheduling Your Installation

  • Final mechanical and electrical drawings are completed after meeting with subcontractors on-site

  • A design installation manual is prepared and delivered to the site for use by the design and construction team

  • Installation process commences, and we work as project coordinators to ensure that all contractors and subcontractors are working off the same plans and design integrity

Perfecting Your Project

  • Final walk-through to create a punch list

  • Ensure that the punch list is completed and the project is finished to your delight!

  • Move in and enjoy your new space
